Dresses are usually one-offs and in only one size that are available to take away with you. The dresses won’t be repeatable so if you love it – go for it.
If you are looking for a dress NOW because your wedding day is very close or you’ve fallen in love with a dress and you’re prepared to buy it now and put it away until your wedding then this is ideal for you.
Bear in mind that you may need some alterations, usually the hem, so take into account the time for seamstress visits.
Benefits are that you can get a well-known brand for up to 70% cheaper than the recommended retail price (RRP) and you don’t have to wait to take your dress home or to the seamstress for any alterations needed.
Orders
Some of the dresses I stock are from the current collections of well known brands and can be ordered in different sizes and sometimes different colours. I have chosen brands that are great quality, great designs and have a much quicker delivery time of approximately 3 months. It’s worth asking if these dresses could be discontinued soon to avoid disappointment – it may be better to take the dress in stock and have alterations by our recommended seamstress than miss out on the style due to being discontinued.
Benefits are that you could order one in your size and the delivery timescale is much more reasonable.
Important Information when booking a Bridal Appointment
Do I have to be engaged and planning a wedding to try dresses on?
Yes. Bridal Boutiques are mostly independent businesses and there to help you find your perfect bridalwear they are professional businesses whose time is valuable. You could be taking the appointment from a bride-to-be who has less time and needs a dress asap. It’s not a place to go for a day out trying on pretty dresses like John Lewis or Next. It happens!
Why is it best to have a date and venue booked?
It will help to know the vibe and style of your wedding which in turn will help you choose the perfect dress or bridalwear. For example; you’ll be looking for a different style for a woodland wedding to a stately home, a barn to a destination beach wedding, something industrial with plenty of space to a cosy pub. A summer wedding, a destination wedding or a winter wedding could affect your choice of bridalwear fabric and coverage too.
Do you offer Joint Appointments?
No. If you would like a ‘joint appointment’ with a friend or family member who is also getting married then of course come along together to support each other but book separate appointments to try on dresses so that you both get the full bridal journey experience.
I believe that every person who comes for a bridal appointment is super special, it should be focused entirely on you and you get all the appointment time to find ‘The One’. After all, your wedding dress is a very important purchase.
How many people can I bring?
The number of people offered at an appointment will vary from boutique to boutique. This will depend on the space available, the number of appointments booked at one time, the amount of stylists and consultants. At Saltaire Bridal you are welcome to bring up to 4 people, that doesn’t include you. I’m also aware that some brides-to-be would prefer to come alone and I will be there to support you should you need advice or opinions.
