1. The only accessory should be your engagement ring!
2. Underwear -be comfortable! try nude or flesh coloured bra and pants. Most dresses have cups therefore you may not need a bra at all.
This could be the time to update your underwear collection – any excuse right!
Be prepared to bare all! Consultants have seen it all before – seriously they have and they won’t be shocked. If you are uncomfortable with this do let them know either before you arrive or when you get to the boutique.
Deodorant – yes even with the air con it could be warm trying on lots of dresses so freshen up before you arrive
your consultant will be getting up close and personal – to make sure you get into the dress properly.
Footwear – if you have your wedding shoes bring them along. If you have decided on trainers or flats then this needs to be taken into account when any alterations are made to the dress.
If you are getting married in wellies for your farm or marquee wedding or Jimmy Choos or Louboutins for the Stately Home or 5* hotel then these need to be taken into account when choosing your dress and for any alterations needed. If you are waiting until you choose the dress it does make it easier. Consider the venue location and style when choosing your dress and footwear.
Most boutiques will have hair ties or bands to tie your hair back but you could bring something with you, if you’d prefer.
Accessories – if you already have a family heirloom you want to incorporate with your dress; hair accessory, belt or veil then do bring those with you (or a photo on your phone) and be prepared to try something else that the boutique may have.
Clothing – wear something that is easy to take off.
Robes – at Saltaire Bridal we have a branded robe for you to wear during the dress changes so you can walk around without showing everything off to your entourage!
Tans and makeup – less is more, keep it to a minimum. Bear in mind you will be close to and trying on light coloured dresses so you don’t need to be fully tanned or fully made up.
Leave the boutique with your perfect wedding gown rather than leaving marks on the dresses for other brides-to-be.
