Whichever way you say it you’ll need an idea of all the ins and outs of sending your gratitude
after your wedding day.
This list is by no means conclusive.
Firstly, why do you even have to say Thanks?
Mostly because a wedding day doesn’t just happen, it takes quite a few members of family, awesome friends and talented professionals – who knew?!
When we give thanks to others it gives us a warm fuzzy feeling plus it’s good etiquette to say, Thanks for making your day the best ever!
When do you do it?
The ideal time would be between one and three months after your wedding day.
Be kind to yourself too, do it gradually and at your own speed, it will depend how many guests and professionals that were involved in your wedding.
Make a list or spreadsheet (if you’re that way inclined) and work through it together. Being married is about being a team so work to your strengths.
How do you do it?
Depending on how you communicate with them, an in-person visit or call with personalised gifts for those special people or people located locally.
By written postcard/card or old-skool letter.
For some even by Whatsapp or text.
Say it in your words, they want to hear it from you.
For suppliers they would appreciate a review on either Google, Facebook or via direct email.
If you’re sending a printed postcard or card then speak to your stationery designer who will be able to offer advice on wording, design or images to match your save the days, invites and on the day printed signage.
If you are creative and making them yourself on Canva or other design platforms then keep it on your wedding brand or style.
You could use a sneak peek image from your photographer to add a ‘just married’ feel.
Who do I Thank?
Anyone who has contributed to the wedding, before, during and after the day and those who went above and beyond for you.
Parents, in-laws, siblings and besties, all significant people in your life. Family and Friends.
The venue team and wedding planner (if you use one).
Your wedding suppliers and professionals who worked for you before and during the wedding day, this list is as an example; photographer, florist, stylist, DJ, cake designer, caterers, bar company, entertainment, celebrant, musicians, videographer, child or pet carers, hair and makeup, menswear, stationers, transport, childrenswear, bridesmaids dresses, marquee company, favour or gift makers, seamstress anyone who provided bespoke pieces for you.
And of course your wedding dress shop.
